Immediate Goals

Think Tank – promote scholarly exchanges, research and analysis in community affairs such as entrepreneurial studies, education, healthcare, community action and foreign trade, while recognizing the importance of traditional culture.

  1. Create a personal network that links organizations in the state of Chiapas, Mexico.
  • Communicate personally with people who are dedicated to ideals of peaceful change, human rights, traditional culture, sustainable community development, socially sensitive micro industries, appropriate technology and human scale and/or organic agriculture.
  • Create an infrastructure to allow scholarly and hands-on exchanges between organizations in the United States and Mexico.
  1. Establish an electronic network through a formal Pathways Project web site to:
  • Recognize work that is already being done by talented, committed, professionals.
  • Serve as a forum for state, national and international dialogue and scholarly exchange to open new pathways to the future.
  • Establish a prototype for future Pathways networking, dialogue and projects throughout the Americas.
  1. Promote exchanges and seminars that will:
  • Link field experience with academic investigations.
  • Encourage international, interpersonal relationships in the interest of finding peaceful solutions for complex problems.
