Chiapas is a land of radical contrasts. It is one of the poorest states economically and one of the richest in natural resources. It swelters in lowland tropical rainforest and soars to highland pine forest.

The Pathways Project is an organization devoted to the advancement of human welfare.  We promote small projects and organizations that seek ecologically and economically sustainable, culturally sensitive answers to the problems arising from illiteracy and poverty in Latin America and other regions. This process includes encouraging these entities to pursue inter-disciplinary dialogue, research and analysis leading to specific action-oriented project development that will produce measurable results and provide pathways for communities to effect change.
